I

Idyllic and safety since the Imperial Era
The idyllic imperial city of Bad Ischl awaits you here, away from mass tourism. Here, you will find charming boutiques and a wonderful promenade where you can easily maintain enough distance.

Romantic walks and hiking trails through the beautiful nature and the majestic mountains and lakes of the Salzkammergut had already enticed Emperor Franz Joseph I to retreat to Bad Ischl to relax.

In the following, we would like to inform you about our current safety measures. These will be continuously adapted and finalised whenever new guidelines are announced or existing provisions are relaxed by the Federal government.

Temporary obligation to wear face masks

Guests’ obligation to wear face masks:

  • When entering the hotel
  • At the Villa Seilern reception desk
  • On the way to the feel-good room
  • On the way to the restaurant area (and returning)
  • In food- and drink-service areas (except at the table)
  • On the way to Villa Seilern Bar (and returning)
  • On the way to the spa area
  • At Merkur Lifestyle Spa

Our safety concept

  • The key cards for our rooms are disinfected.
  • In order to protect our guests and employees accordingly, our hotel refers to the general rules of conduct.
  • Our employees, of course, wear a protective mouth/nose covering, maintain the specified safety distance away from others and regularly clean their hands.
  • A glass construction at the reception and the legally required droplet protection at the buffet provide additional protection for our guests and our employees.
  • Body temperature measurements take place in the Merkur Lifestyle Spa health department.

Wellness and sauna facilities

  • Thanks to our spacious spa area, we assume that we can keep our wellness and sauna area open without hesitation, while respecting the minimum distance and the maximum number of people.
  • Our spacious sunbathing lawn is also available subject to the adherence of social distancing rules.
  • We kindly ask you to use a towel in the saunas or the covers intended for use in the infrared cabin and the microsalt cabin, respectively.

Our imperial cuisine

  • On the way to the table and to the buffet, all guests must wear a protective mouth-nose covering. At the table, this is not mandatory for guests.
  • At breakfast and dinner, our guests sit at their tables maintaining a sufficient distance away from each other.
  • At breakfast, there is free seating.
  • At dinner, our guests are led to their seats by a staff member.
  • Each table will not be occupied again until this area has been completely cleaned and disinfected.

Sports and Recreation

  • Since participation in the activity program is limited, several sports programs with a small number of participants will take place.

Seminars and conferences

  • Sufficient spatial separation from the hotel area to the seminar rooms is provided for.
  • The seminar area is reserved exclusively for seminar guests.
  • Spacious outdoor area for events or seminars in conjunction with outdoor programs.
  • The seats in the seminar rooms are arranged in such a way that the minimum distance can be observed.
  • The maximum number of possible participants in our event rooms will be reduced to 20 persons for the time being.
  • Possible types of seating will be discussed with our event coordinator, depending on the room size, taking into account the corresponding maximum number of participants allowed.
